PublicationLife Skills Course( 2013-06) Virtual University for the Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC)Research suggests that a well articulated and efficiently implemented life skills curriculum, successfully addresses a number of societal issues and pressures and acts as a direct investment in a nation’s human capital. The implementation of a life skills course has increasing significance for a society undergoing social and economic transformation and who is committed to improving the quality of life of its people. This training creates an opportunity for the inculcation of fundamental life skills for operating successfully at home, in the world of work, as well as fulfilling the demands of a changing society. // The goals of the Life skills course include: a life skills curriculum that would impact on and develop lifestyles that will lead to personal success, health and well‐being of the individual and the community; high quality of life skills facilitators with the relevant knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes; and a support network for life skills participants.

PublicationTransport and Logistics - Stevedoring: Level 1( 2009-12) Commonwealth of Learning ; Virtual University for the Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC)This course is intended for cargo handlers who are new to the stevedoring and ports industry, either in permanent or casual employment. The course focuses on the terminologies used in port and stevedoring operations, driving within a port environment, safety issues surrounding work in a port environment, communication skills, and the core knowledge and skills that relate to cargo operations. It also provides further skills in aspects of cargo operations that are location or enterprise specific, as well as in first aid. // This qualification has some standards in common with, and can lead on to Certificate in Stevedoring Levels 1 to 3, which are intended for cargo handlers and port machinery operators.
