It is, therefore, crucial for educators to be cognisant of these threats and be equipped to defend against them. The Advanced Cybersecurity Training for Teachers (ACTT) course is designed to provide teachers, teacher educators and education practitioners with superior knowledge necessary to protect themselves and their students online, as well as create awareness for parents and other stakeholders in digital learning. The course enables participants to proactively protect the digital spaces they use to engage with learners and also adopt good practice for a safe and effective online learning experience.

The course is supported by a guidebook on blended learning, which offers a review of various types of blended learning in reference to the level of education, the needs of students, and the subject being taught.

Experience has revealed that while Community Radio Stations (CRS) are able to manage their production and management aspects, there is pressing need for technical guidance and support relating to running or setting-up a CRS and maintaining the basic equipment. The paucity of trained personnel at the local level makes them dependent on “outside experts” even for elementary tasks. Getting trained professionals from metros for trouble shooting is expensive for CRS. CEMCA has developed learning content at the level of a certificate programme for community radio technicians to help prepare a cadre of technical support persons at the local levels. This would, in turn, create new technical and vocational skill-based jobs and enhance the technical sustainability of CRS
