Abstract
COL Newsletter published April 2026. This edition highlights institutional, national, and regional shifts in education, with reflections from India and the Caribbean on rethinking access, quality, and innovation. In this issue are perspectives from our partners including the Commonwealth Foundation’s new Director-General and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of South Africa. From emerging approaches such as Frugal AI to practical examples of digital transformation in Flexible Open and Distance Education in Papua New Guinea, this issue explores how education systems are adapting to meet the changing needs of educators and learners. Alongside these stories are case studies and resources, as well as insights from regional collaborations addressing issues such as skills, youth employment, and inclusion, led by COL Focal Points and other government and institutional representatives in the Pacific and the Caribbean.
