Report on the Commonwealth of Learning Board-Ministerial Roundtable on Transforming Learning Futures

Abstract

The Commonwealth of Learning, with the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Commonwealth Foundation, hosted the Commonwealth of Learning Board-Ministerial Roundtable on Open Learning on 21 May 2026 at Marlborough Housing in London, U.K. The roundtable brought together the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) Board of Governors, seven Ministers of Education, and other senior government representatives from Member States, as well as Commonwealth intergovernmental organisations and Accredited Organisations, including the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Commonwealth Consortium for Education, the Independent Forum of Commonwealth Organisations, and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the Commonwealth Health Professions and Partners Alliance. The roundtable discussion, entitled “Transforming Learning Futures: Skills, Inclusion and Gender Equity Across the Commonwealth,” focused on how Commonwealth partners can better work in synergy to align their efforts to strengthen education delivery, expand skills development, and advance inclusive learning pathways for all.
