Abstract
My title today is Distance Learning Across Borders: Cultural Imperialism or Intellectual Independence? My aim is to look broadly at issues of international education using Australia's experience as my main point of reference. // But before I turn to Australia I would like to draw from my new institution, the Commonwealth of Learning, some lessons about the development of education across borders.
