dc.description.abstract PCF5 Sub-theme: Livelihoods // This paper evaluates the provision made for training professionals for the STM (Scientific, Technical and Medical Books) publishing industry in India, in the ‘Postgraduate Diploma in Book Publishing’ that IGNOU is currently developing. The first section of the paper looks at the STM book publishing scenario in India and attempts to identify its training needs, while the second section considers how higher education institutions and vocational training institutes, and especially the ODL system in the country have made provision to meet these needs. // Paper ID 529
