Continuing education & TVET: an alternative system at the university of the south pacific

Abstract

This paper will discuss the systems of open schooling that exists at the USP. A combined system of the complementary and alternative forms of open schooling (Daniel and Ferreira, 2008) operates through the Continuing and Community Education (CCE) Centre and the College of Foundation Studies (CFS). In different ways the two sections provide an inclusive service by offering an alternative learning pathway to various levels of learners who failed to progress through the traditional academic pathway.
