Abstract

EFQUEL Innovation Forum 2011, 14 – 16 September 2011 Oeiras, Portugal, Towards Sustainable OER by Professor Asha Kanwar, Commonwealth of Learning // SLIDE 5 My topic today is ‘Towards Sustainable Open Education Resources (OER)’ // SLIDE 6 I will first look at why we need OER, and will then focus on how OER are being used in low-resource countries. I will then reflect on the key challenges that need to be addressed if the OER movement has to attain a critical mass and will conclude with some initiatives that could help us address these challenges and advance us towards achieving sustainable OER.
