The overall aim of the handbook is to provide a rationale and guidance for teachers, tutors and other learner support practitioners to enable them to carry out research and evaluation projects in tutoring and learner support. At a more detailed level the aims of the handbook are to enable you to be able to: - Define research questions appropriate to your context. - Identify the methodology which best fits your research aims and context. - Gather the background information needed for your research. - Choose an appropriate research design. - Implement and manage your project. - Report on your results.
